Sony Xperia 1 II|The Beast?

What’s up guys, In this Post we’re going to be taking a deeper dive into the new Sony Xperia 1 II.

Sony Xperia 1 II

Build and Design:

So we’ve got a metal frame with the glass panels on front and back as expected. Sony hasn’t gone for any gradient finishes or anything like that we’re seeing on many other devices right now.

Display:

The main thing on the Sony Xperia 1 II is the Display, Which is quite different from the punch outs, high refresh rate displays that we’re seeing right now. This is a 21:9 Cinema wide,4K HDR OLED Display and it’s 6.5 inches. We’ve got a 60 Hertz Refresh rate, not 120 and 90 Hertz like we’re seeing from the competitors. But Sony does have motion blur reduction technology, which should make things seem smoother.

Sony is saying almost like a 90 Hertz Display but this is with software, not hardware. And we do have some top or bottom bezels. So we’ve not got a notch or a punch-out or anything like that.IN terms of my opinions about this display. It is very very sharp thanks for that 4K resolution sharper, then pretty much anything else out there.

The most interesting about this display is the 21:9 aspect ratio. This is something that we see last year on Sony Xperia 1. What that means is this is very much catered towards watching that 21:9 content. So if you watching a lot of movies, most movies have this 21:9 aspect ratio so that is very very wide and that wide you’re not going to be getting any black bars on the top and in the bottom.

The one of the advantage with a 21:9 screen is that is not very wide and it’s quite comfortable to hold in one hand.

Cameras:

So upfront we do have an 8 Megapixel front-facing camera is got a 2.2 aperture, but we got some interesting cameras at the back.

So there are 4 cameras in total with three different focal lenses, all of the three different focal lenses are at 12 megapixels. So I do like that sony have just gone with 12 Megapixels across the board, rather than going for a crazy high megapixel number when realistically speaking, you’re still going to be shooting at 12 megapixels.

The primary camera has a 1.7 aperture, it’s going around a 24-millimeter angle of view, which is pretty wide and it has a 1/1.7 inch sensor size, which is pretty large, but definitely not as large as some of the others like the p40 pro and the S20 Ultra.

We then got a telephoto camera, which has a 2.4 aperture and that got around about a 70-millimeter angle of view. Now, a lot of other telephoto cameras, which around at two times have about a 50-millimeter angle of view this is a little bit more than that so it’s three times optical zoom, I would say around 2.8 to three times.

We then have an ultra-wide camera with an f2.2 aperture and that around 16-millimeter angle of view so in terms of field of view that’s around 124 degrees.

And finally, we have a 3D time to flight sensor, which is going to help with depth information. We do have real-time EYE-AF, which is something we see a lot of these pro sony cameras, eye tracking, real-time. This is opposed to working with humans as well as animals.

Ports, Buttons, and Fingerprints:

If we take a look around the device at the bottom, there is a USB Type-C input on the right-hand side, we’ve got a volume rocker. We’ve got a dedicated shutter button which is quite nice it allows you to use the smartphone in landscape mode and take pictures easily. There’s also a power button which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner, It seems to work fine but it definitely not as fast as others I’ve tested, there is a bit of animation which seems to slow things down.

On the top Is that 3.5-millimeter jack, which makes this very very unique.we’ve got support for high-resolution audio, or even high resolution wireless with LDAC and we also got 360 reality audio.

Storage:

The Sony Xperia 1 II also comes with 256 GB of Storage. And the interesting thing is that you can also expand the storage with a micro SD card.

Performance:

The Sony Xperia 1 II is powered by the latest and the greatest, we do have the Qualcomm snapdragon 865 chipsets along with the X55 modem. So 5G is enabled and we got 8Gb of Ram. So performance I’m sure it’s going to be fine. We also got some gaming features on here.

Software:

So for the Software, we do have Android 10 with sony’s skin. The Sony Skin is very minimal it almost looks like Stock Android.

Battery:

We do have a 4000 MAH Battery, which is quite a bit larger compared to last year Sony Xperia.

Pricing:

The Price of the Sony Xperia 1 II is around $1200 which is up there with all of the other flagships.

So tell me your thoughts about Sony Xperia 1 II and as always we I’ll see you tomorrow.

Have a nice day 🙂
